The Galvanized Iron Kitchen is a bespoke handcrafted kitchen in which the history of the materials becomes part of the space itself. Its marine plywood structure is clad in metal sheets reclaimed from the former covering of a water tank in Livorno. The worktop is made of stainless steel, with visible welds intentionally left exposed. Galvanization alters the oxidation process of iron, creating white and grey surface veils. These traces, unique to the original sheets, make the surface of each kitchen impossible to reproduce exactly.
