Anime

Anime is a large, intimate weaving meant as a personal map: the composition interprets the artist’s family—two parental presences and the slender line that passes between them—through a disciplined play of texture, thread and negative space. The left field is detailed with vertical stitches, tufted knots and scattered color notes that suggest memory points; the centre opens into a cascade of loose, elegant threads forming the “line”; the right panel answers with dense, rhythmic weave and tactile bobble inserts. Together the three registers form a measured dialogue of distance, connection and time.

All fibres are locally sourced in Sardegna: the cotton is spun from small local producers, linking material and meaning. Woven by hand on a horizontal loom, the piece combines tight plain weave, looped borders, tufted highlights and hand‑drawn thread work. Those manual irregularities—slight variations in loop, occasional thicker knot, the tender sway of the loose threads—are deliberate: they are the traces of hands and of lived stories.

This tapestry is designed to be experienced close up and across time: at first a graphic composition, then a textile archive of gestures. It suits large walls in living rooms, staircases or contemplative interiors that welcome narrative and tactility.
