The Armata Armchair was conceived to make hard materials such as wood and iron feel welcoming. It combines reclaimed scaffolding boards, steel reinforcing bars originally used in concrete structures, and wood from old Sicilian wine barrels. The reddish tones of the legs are not an applied finish: they come from wine absorbed by the wood during its previous life. The combination of materials and their original traces gives this handcrafted chair its distinctive character, making each piece different from the next.
